We love the new fashion colours of the images that are being done by so many of the photographers all over the world today, I know I love them. I love the muted colours, the hard flash contrast look and the old fashioned film looks, just to name a few different styles.

I have created a set of actions that you can use on any image quickly and easily.

I’ve had this app for as long as I’ve had my iPhone. I use it more then the regular camera on the phone – I really LOVE it!! I love how unpredictable the results are and how just by shaking the phone you can change all the settings and get a new result. I think what I enjoy the most with this app is, that you can take photos of just regular everyday things and make them look a little bit different and not so mundane.

Founders: Bruce and Winston Dorbowski

Founded: November 1982 (Unofficially, as in no lawyers)

Location: Merrill, Wisconsin, USA

The Idea: Bring people a camera that cost less than the film. Bruce had a Russian plastic camera that our father gave him as a Christmas gift in 1972. The camera had since broke and was no longer being made or sold, at least anywhere he could find it. So Bruce and Winston came up with a plan to recreate something similar. Winston had fallen in love with his Kodak Instamatic and that was the start of the Hipstamatic.

Unfortunately the two brothers that developed this camera were both killed in 1982 by a drunk driver, but its good to know that their legacy and the spirit lives on in this app.

The price of the app is pretty affordable at $2.49 US and the additional lens and film are just .99¢ each, so it doesn’t break the bank and brings hours of enjoyment.

Its been a bit quite on the AllyKatDesign front as I have been working on a new set of awesome actions!

Introducing the Classic Wedding Action Set.  These actions have been made with photographers in mind, that want all the classic glowiness of old school wedding photography. The actions can be run individually of they can be combined to make several different looks.

The examples below show the action results, with the glow actions being run first, eg glow + make it black & white.

These gorgeously crafted wedding actions will make your post production work a breeze! These actions work in Photoshop versions CS3 and higher. If there is a demand for older versions of photoshop, I can adapt these actions easily.

What makes these actions so awesome is that they produce layers that are fully editable. No hidden flattening of different effects or any other sneakiness that you can’t control, everything is there to be edited. All the filters that are applied are done as smart filters so you can go back and tweak them once the action has run its course.

The action set comes with a user manual, that details how to install the actions and what each of the actions does with some handy little recipes to get you started.

I was hunting around the internet (as you do) and came across these videos that are shot with a Phantom Flex which shoots 1250 frames per second at full 1080 HD. I’m sure that this type of technology is nothing new but the video and the stills captured look amazing! They were shot by Dewey Nicks for the New York Times.

I was looking through some of my old files and found a shoot that I had never edited as I thought that the images weren’t good enough.
